Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress

Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress written by Christine Baldacchino and illustrated by Isabelle Malenfant. This book is about this boy named Morris who loved a lot of things but a lot of kids at Morris’s school bullied him every day about what he wears and how he acts. One day Morris felt sick about the kids that bullied him so his mom let him stay home and read books about elephants. Morris decided to paint a picture and when he was done he showed his mom and she asked who is the one on the top of the elephant wearing a Tangerine Dress and Morris said me. When Morris brought his painting to school and he showed people one of the girls said only girls wear a dress and Morris said well I do. The Theme of the story never give up. The message of the story is if anyone says you can’t do it just do what you want to do and don’t listen to others if they’re putting you down. My own thoughts on this book are I really liked how it teaches you to never give up on your dreams.
