Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress

Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress written by Christine Baldacchino and illustrated by Isabelle Malenfant. This book is about this boy named Morris who loved a lot of things but a lot of kids at Morris’s school bullied him every day about what he wears and how he acts. One day Morris felt sick about the kids that bullied him so his mom let him stay home and read books about elephants. Morris decided to paint a picture and when he was done he showed his mom and she asked who is the one on the top of the elephant wearing a Tangerine Dress and Morris said me. When Morris brought his painting to school and he showed people one of the girls said only girls wear a dress and Morris said well I do. The Theme of the story never give up. The message of the story is if anyone says you can’t do it just do what you want to do and don’t listen to others if they’re putting you down. My own thoughts on this book are I really liked how it teaches you to never give up on your dreams.

Act Of Kindness #2

For my second act of kindness, I was with Malcolm and his brother and we were going on a hike. Malcolm tripped on a rock and fell and cut his leg and I helped him get up and when we got back to his house I went and got him a bandage. I chose this act of kindness because I thought this would make him feel better and cheer him up. It made me feel like a good and caring friend. I think it made him feel respected and that he knew I was a caring friend.

Kindness #1

My first act of kindness happened on Saturday when my dad was at work catching up and I knew he would have to walk my dog when he got home. So instead I went and took my dog on a long walk and threw the ball at a field for a while. I chose this act of kindness because I thought this would make him feel really good because instead of taking my dog for a walk when he got home he could relax and watch TV. It made me feel excellent because my dad does a lot for me and I thought this would make him feel good. When my dad came home and I told him what I did he was super grateful for what I did for him and he got to just relax and watch sports.

Two

Two written by Kathryn Otoshi this a children’s friendly book about. These numbers one and two who were best friends until three came along and one never wanted to spend time with two. Every time two tried to talk to one he just said I’m playing with three. Every day one and three always said one and three are the best two slowly drifted away from two because one never wanted to play with him anymore. Two asked for a final time if he could play but three just said you’ve had your time to play with one and were playing odds only right now. Two was always blue and whenever he looked over his shoulder he saw one and three playing without him. Until the other numbers tried to encourage two but now there was a war against odds and even numbers. Zero came along and said can’t we all be on the same team and not fight about if your even or odd. So all the numbers agreed to that so from there on they were all friends and got along together. One went over to one and said I feel really bad for leaving you out can we still be friends asked one and two said yes of course. The theme of the story is forgiveness and friendship. The message of the story is to never leave your friends out of anything.

One

“One” written by Kathryn Otoshi this book is a children’s friendly book. The theme of this story is anti-bullying and to motivate others.  This book is about this blue color who always loves floating on the ocean, he also enjoyed looking up at the blue sky. Blue always wished he could be sunnier like yellow, more like the other colors. But Red was a color that always teased and bullied Blue and made Blue not want to be the color Blue. Blues friends always encouraged him like he was such a good color but they never said stop or no to Red. Soon Red got so big and grew and everyone was afraid of him and Red picked on all the colors. Until Blue turned into One and had a different shape, now he was funny and made all the colors laugh. Red became mad so he rolled over to One and said stop laughing and One stood up to him and said no and then Red rolled away. So then all of the colors were no longer afraid of Red and they all turned into numbers. Red became scared and turned small. From there on the numbers, all stood up to Red. The message of this story is to all ways to be nice to anyone even if they are different from you. My thoughts on this story are I thought this was really meaning full because Red wasn’t being kind to Blue so he eventually stood up to him and solved the problem.

They all ways tease each other about there lunch and take goofy photos of each other. One day the bird called Nerdy Birdy found a new game on his phone it’s called Tweetster. This game you can make new friends all across the world. Nerdy Bird was always playing Tweetster and Vulture was getting bored so one-day Vulture flew off. So the next day Vulture flew back to meet Nerdy bird he had missed Vulture a lot Vulture had a surprise for him. He had got Tweetster and so all morning they were tweeting and when it was lunch time they ate lunch how they used to and made silly faces and took photos. Then Vulture went on Tweetster and saw a photo of him on Nerdy Birdy’s Tweet page.  Vulture was mad so she flew off again. A week later Vulture still had not come back so Nerdy Bird decided to go look for him it took him a while but he finally found him in an old oak tree. What Do You Do With An Idea?

What Do You Do With An Idea is written by Kobi Yamada and illustrated by Moe Besom and is a book for anyone and any age. This book is about this boy who has an idea but he doesn’t want to tell anyone about his idea because he is afraid they will laugh at him and tell him it isn’t anything but it was like he had to feed his idea and tell someone about it. So one day he told some people about his idea and they told him that it won’t do anything and won’t ever be anything. So the boy was really sad and almost gave up on his idea but one day it came to him to not give up on it and so he gave it food and gave it a home and cared for it and mostly spent time with it didn’t give up on it. Days after his idea not only his but it was the whole worlds and everybody’s now. The message of this book is to never give up on your dreams and don’t give up on yourself even if other people said it won’t be anything. My thoughts on the book were I really enjoyed the message of the book and how the boy was going to give up due to what other people said but he stayed to his idea and kept going with it and stuck to it and it ended up being a really good idea and I really liked that about the book. I would give this book a five out of five-star rating and would definitely recommend this book.

Spoon

Spoon is a children’s friendly book written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Scott Magoon. Spoon is a book about a spoon who is complaining about how the knife can just cut into anything he wants too and spread onto anything said spoon. Also, the fork is so lucky he gets to practically go anywhere I bet she never goes stir-crazy like I do said spoon.  For last chopsticks, they are so lucky everyone thinks they’re cool and exotic. Knife says spoon is so lucky he can just go right into things and scoop anything out. Fork said spoon can just go right into cereal and liquids, chopsticks said spoon can be on his own me and my other chopstick can’t go without each other. Spoons mother said you can do the most things out of all the utensils,  So one night when spoon’s parents were going to bed spoon comes in and his mother said to come into her bed and they went to bed happy. The meaning of this story is too appreciate what you can do and not change what you think is better, to be yourself always.
